For these MasterCraft Boat Ilmor 7000 MPI 7.4L engines to maintain Max Power. Spark Plugs and wires are to be changed out more frequently. If you continue to use the boat passed it's regular 150 hour service you can cause pre detonation, Miss fires, and can make the engine run rough while working harder. At my service center I follow all guidelines set forth by the manufacture, and have zero B-Backs because of it. The older Merc, Ilmor, PCM and Indmar engines go 300 hours, BUT they also would never be able to handle the 8,000 to 10,000 lbs. of weight and still get on plane.

You should still be doing a regular inspection of your engine. I do the Annual inspection every time I work on a boat. I look for things that can become an issue, and correct them to grantee my customers a flawless boat experience.
